Air India's A350 Chief Pilot dies of Dengue

Air India's A350 fleet Chief Pilot Captain Sandeep Gupta succumbs to Dengue fever

Captain Sandeep Gupta, the Chief Pilot of Air India's long-range A350 aircraft fleet, passed away in New Delhi due to dengue, according to two airline officials. Gupta, aged 53, had been battling dengue and was rushed to the hospital on Wednesday afternoon, where he unfortunately succumbed to the illness.

Captain Gupta's role was pivotal in Air India's efforts to enhance its fleet and overall operations. He took on the position of Chief Pilot for Air India's A350 aircraft fleet just last year. This appointment was concurrent with Air India's discussions with Airbus regarding the introduction of A350 planes. These talks occurred following the Tata Group's acquisition of the airline in the same period.

A career spanning decades:

Gupta had been a part of the Air India team since 1988, showcasing his dedication and experience. Before his role as the A350 fleet chief pilot, he served as the chief pilot for Air India's Airbus A320 fleet until 2022. Additionally, he was responsible for overseeing Air India's Central Training Establishment located in Hyderabad.
